For the 2021-2022 school year, Gananda Central School District is pleased to announce three administrative changes.
Kim Ernstberger, the Principal of Richard Mann Elementary for the past 24 years, has accepted a newly created position in the district as the Director of Accountability. Ernstberger will be helping the district with compliance standards in regards to COVID-19 protocols, district educational grants, and ESSA reporting to New York State Department of Education in her new role. The new position is funded by various grants provided to the district.
Stepping in as interim Richard Mann Elementary Principal is Roger Becker. Becker joins the district with a wealth of experience in education. He retired as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction at Pal-Mac Central School District, was a Principal of Johanna Perrin Middle School in Fairport, taught Social Studies at the middle school level in Martha Brown Middle School in Fairport, and most recently served as an interim building substitute teacher at Williamson High School. Becker also proudly served in the US Army Reserves. He will be taking over as elementary school principal effective September 1, 2021.
Additionally, we would like to congratulate Melissa Reeves on her promotion to interim Assistant Principal at Ruben A. Cirillo High School and the district Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator. Reeves was previously an 8th grade Math and Algebra teacher at Gananda Middle School where she taught for five years. Prior to joining Gananda Central School District, she taught Algebra and Statistics at North Rose Wolcott. Reeves is also a graduate of Gananda Central School District from the class of 2011.
“We look forward to continuing the success of providing each of our students with an exceptional education and we welcome each of our administrators in their new roles,” says Superintendent Dr. Shawn Van Scoy.
The first day of school for Gananda Central School District is Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
