The end of the 2023-24 school year is weeks away but before we wrap it all up, there are Student of the Month for May to recognize!
Ninth Grade: Jordyn Brice
Outstanding dedication to academics, a leader in her class as Class President and respect toward peers and teachers. Always helps tutor her fellow classmates in Advisement.
10th Grade: Elisabeth Talavera
Elisabeth has done an outstanding job in the classroom this year, demonstrating respect for others and an incredible drive to be successful.
11th Grade: Tori Ferguson
As far as being driven, Tori is perhaps the most intrinsically motivated student we teach. Her work is always outstanding due to her unwavering diligence and the respect she affords her teachers has been appreciated all year long.
12th Grade: Ollie LaBarge
Ollie continuously demonstrates a drive to be successful. Ollie will engage in plans presented in class with a quiet enthusiasm driven by their goal to succeed. In addition, Ollie is responsible. Ollie will advocate for themself and approach teachers with concerns or questions to assure they are on the right track. Ollie is also caring and empathic to others.
Gananda Citizen of the Month: Kat Bettinger
Kat is named Gananda Citizen of the Month for May 2024 for all her hard work and extra efforts setting up for the musical. Kat currently volunteers at school and has leadership positions in multiple clubs.
She is in Stage Crew and contributed to making the sets look great for this year’s show. This year, she also helped with the middle school musical by designing and making many of the costumes, and coming to the dress rehearsals and show to ensure everything looked good.
Kat is also a member of Math Honor Society and National Honor Society, and tutors students in math and science monthly.
In the community, she voluntarily teaches swim lessons to preschoolers and has taken first aid, CPR courses, and a lifeguarding course to make her a better teacher for them.
Congratulations to an all-around kind and committed student citizen.
